The entry level Acenta trim has a six speed manual gearbox and will do 0 to 60 mph in 10 seconds with a maximum speed of 124mph. Combined fuel consumption is 44.1mpg, which is reasonable for a vehicle of this calibre. The Acenta comes with a good amount of extra kit, including front and rear electric windows, electric mirrors, climate control, multi CD player with MP3 and iPod connection, cruise control and Bluetooth. The Nissan X-Trail Tekna includes a superior stereo system, a reversing camera to aid parking, sat nav, leather seats; the front ones being heated, plus larger alloy wheels. On the downside, the Tekna costs around £3,000 more than the Acenta, so prospective buyers may want to consider whether it is worth the extra cost. The X-Trail has an intelligent four-wheel drive system and certainly handles the road well. Both engines offer adequate performance and the ride is comfortable.
